I only knew Jesse for a short time having worked with him last year as a volunteer spokesperson for SCI Ontario events in the region. He was an exceptional young man and will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family at this sad time!

My deepest condolences to the Redden family. My memories of Jesse mostly involve weekends spent in Fergus. It was a long time ago, but these are fond memories and the love the Redden siblings showed each other even then is something that has always stuck with me. My dear Sarah, if ever you need anything you know where to find me. Never be afraid to call, text, message or anything else. I will be unable to attend the viewing on Wednesday, but please know I am sending so much love your way and am hugging you from afar. I remember us changing lyrics to some songs on the fly into complete nonsense and laughing about it for a child-ish length of time. We'd also listen to songs that began as nonsense, like the Five Iron Frenzy pants songs. (You should probably look that up.)

Once I laughed so hard while showing Jesse a youtube video that he looked at me and said, "I think it broke Sarah!"

Jesse drove a few of us down to Hamilton to see Five Iron Frenzy when they came to Canada a few months ago. I'm glad he got to attend that show, and didn't even bring his chair.

This poem was read at our families funeral and I believe the message is powerful. Remember Jesses dash and let his memory always live on. My condolences to the family. The Dash by Linda Ellis copyright 1996 I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on his tombstone, from the beginning…to the end. He noted that first came the date of his birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that he spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved him know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own, the cars…the house…the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So, think about this long and hard. Are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough to consider what’s true and real and always try to understand the way other people feel. And be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before. If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering that this special dash might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash… would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent YOUR dash? Jesse lived every moment to fullest and never took anything for granted. This can be seen by all of hard work and giving back. May he rest in peace.
