Dr. J. Gordon  Fisher
Surrounded by the love of his family, Heaven has gained a Christmas angel. Beloved husband of Marian (nee Hiller) for 30 years, loving step-father to Shelley DeLaFranier (Tom), Scott Puncher (Tanya), cherished Gramps to Justin Leckie, Bryson and Alexandra Puncher. Gord was predeceased by his parents Jack and Doris Fisher,daughter Laura and son Thom as well as his brother Jim Fisher (Norma). Dear uncle of John (Kim), Mike (Christine),Chris (Jody) plus many dear cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Gord was born in Stratford Ontario and grew up in Tavistock. He graduated from the University of Western in the faculty of Medicine in 1965. He
practiced family medicine in Kitchener retiring in 2010 and served as the Kitchener Rangers team doctor for 35 years. Gord met the love of his life Marian and together they enjoyed travelling the world. He enjoyed cottaging in Muskoka with the family where he spent time teaching his grandchildren how to fish. He loved spending winters in Florida golfing and swimming. Gord was also an avid skier. Anyone who knew Gord would agree that he was a very humble, kind and compassionate person in his own quiet way. The family is extremely thankful for the loving care provided by Drs. Sean Gartner, Eric Hentschel, Stephen Keleher and Donna Ward. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life at Creekside Church at 600 Conservation Drive, Waterloo on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. with service at 11:00 a.m. and followed by a reception at Creekside. Donations and condolences in memory of Gord can be made to the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) research branch or Toronto General Hospital Lung Transplant Centre through the Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 617 King Street North, Waterloo.
